Ready, Set, Gold!
The LA Y, in partnership with the Southern California Committee for the Olympic Games, are offering students and their families an opportunity to join Olympians and Paralympians in virtual workouts and mentoring.
Hear untold stories from the greatest athletes in the world, with each episode examining a pivotal moment that defined the athlete's career. Follow along every week with local athletes from different Los Angeles neighborhoods, learn different sports, and leave with a new social-emotional learning tool like growth mindset, goal setting, perseverance, and more.
"All of the workouts build on the foundation of small muscle groups required for sports performance. It is the small motions that can make a difference along with biomechanics that give an individual the platform for healing, wellness and performance."
“These kids will be apart of the generation competing in the 2028 Olympics. Ready, Set, Gold! and their new Fall Series empowers our youth with the tools to successfully set goals, embrace challenges and develop lifelong healthy habits” - 2016 Olympic Water Polo Player, Alex Roelse

Ready, Set, Gold! is a non-profit community health and fitness program that promotes healthy and active lifestyles to children in Southern California schools.
The program matches Olympic and Paralympic athletes with schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District to promote fitness and nutrition. Students are educated on the importance of exercise and are motivated to adopt healthy habits into their daily lifestyle. The athletes also emphasize the importance of goal-setting and self-discipline, and encourage students to achieve their dreams.
